Summer 2020 Learning Environments Workshops!

The Teaching and Scholarly Learning Team has created a variety of workshops to assist you in setting up your online course. Please view the calendar below to view the offerings and register to receive the Zoom links. Or visit the Canvas Training Center. These workshops can be hands on as you follow along; you can build your course while we assist and answer your questions.

Workshop Topics:

  • Introduction to Canvas: A quick start to using Canvas, this course will cover the basics and get you ready for diving deeper
  • Content in Canvas: Covers creating content using Pages, My Media, Files, and Modules
  • Communication: Discusses basic zoom, discussions, announcements, inbox, and more
  • Quizzes and Assignments: Focuses on creating and administering quizzes, exams, surveys and a variety of assignment types
  • Gradebook: Looks at how to set up and use the Gradebook in Canvas
  • Zoom: Covers the use of Zoom through Canvas for courses as well as outside of Canvas for meetings
  • Accessibility: Focuses on how to create courses that are accessible for all students
  • Kaltura: Delves into lecture recording and creating videos for students along with media assignments
  • Collaboration Tools: Covers a variety of tools which help you and your students collaborate both on learning activities and to build community
  • 10 Effective Tools for Online Learning: Discusses ten tips, tricks, and tools to make your use of technology most effective for student learning
